Extension plans

Extension and Redevelopment

The Port Chalmers Museum collection has outgrown our current storage space.
We are in the process of designing a new storage facility/exhibition space which will be built behind the current museum.  The new building will be climate-controlled to ensure safe storage of our collection.  We hope to include a viewing platform to show our visitors the awe-inspiring Dunedin Harbour and the day-to-day workings of a busy seaport.
Once the extension is complete, we plan to redevelop our current building to make our collection more accessible to visitors.
